Survey Description

During the summer of 2014, stream sediment samples were collected from 25 sites in the Plaster Rock area, west-central New Brunswick.  The area was sampled as a follow-up to sampling carried out in 1976-1977 to re-examine previously know areas of prospective mineralization.

The data are published in New Brunswick Department of Energy and Mines Open File 2015-5.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers the northwest part of NTS 21J/14 (Plaster Rock) in west-central New Brunswick.  Highway 108 runs east-west through the centre of the study area which is located approximately 20 km east of the town of Plaster Rock.

  • Covers the northwest part of NTS 21J/14 (Plaster Rock) in west-central New Brunswick.  No samples were collected in this area as it defines a hole in the stream sediment sampling coverage.

  • Covers a very small part of NTS 21J/14 (Plaster Rock; 2 samples) in west-central New Brunswick.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 6 km southeast of the town of Longley.

  • Covers a small part of the southeast corner of NTS 21J14 (Plaster Rock; 4 samples) in west-central New Brunswick.  It is located approximately 10 south of Highway 108.
