Survey Description


From late June to late August in 1996, a total of 257 stream water samples were collected from 218 sites in the Adams Lake – North Barrière Lake region, southern British Columbia in an area covering approximately 1200 km2.  The average sample density was 1 site per 5.5 km2.

The data are published in British Columbia Geological Survey Open File 1998-9.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 82M/04 (Adams Plateau) and 82M/05 (North Barrière Lake) in the Adams Lake – North Barrière Lake area, southern British Columbia.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 73 km northeast of the city of Kamloops and 28 km east of Highway 5.  Adams Lake is located in the southeast quadrant of the study area.
