Survey Description
In the summer of 2006, a high-density lake sediment and water survey was conducted in the Winokapau Lake – Wilson Lake area, central Labrador.
In total, 531 lake sediment and 541 lake water samples were collected using a float-equipped helicopter. In most cases, the centre of the lake was sampled.
The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Open File LAB/1585.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 13E/01 (Mouni Rapids), 13E/02 (untitled) and 13E/08 (untitled) in the area of Winokapau Lake, central Labrador. The centre of the study area is located approximately 35 km southeast of Wilson Lake and the Trans-Labrador Highway crosses the middle of the study area. Winokapau Lake is located in the southwest part of the study area.
