Survey Description
In 2012, till sampling was conducted on Fogo Island and Change Island, Newfoundland, at a density of 1 sample every 1 km along primary and secondary roads.
In total, 55 C- and BC- horizon samples were collected from pits (~55 cm depth), road cuts (~60 cm depth) and mud boils (~25 cm depth). Thirteen samples were collected from bedrock detritus where there was a lack of suficial sediment to collect.
The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Open File 2E/09/1736.
Samples from this survey were reanalyzed for fluoride and the data are published in a compilation (Open File NFLD/3344) with samples collected from across the province between 1985 and 2017.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 2E/09 (Fogo), in the Labrador Sea off the northeast coast of Newfoundland. It covers Change Island and most of Fogo Island.
