Survey Description
In 2009 and 2010, till samples were collected in the Gander, Gambo and Weir’s Pond map sheets and surrounding areas, eastern Newfoundland.
Samples were collected from C- and BC- horizons from hand dug pits (~40-60 cm depth), road cuts (~50-100 cm depth) and mud boils (~30 cm depth). The sampling density was 1 sample per km2 in areas of good access and 1 sample per 4 km2 where helicopter support was required.

The data from 2009 and 2010 are also published with data from samples collected in 2011 in an adjacent area in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Open File NFLD/3174.
Samples from this survey were reanalyzed for fluoride and the data are published in a compilation (Open File NFLD/3344) with samples collected from across the province between 1985 and 2017.
