Survey Description
In July 1976, centre lake bottom sediments were collected at 1294 sites from a 3900 km 2 area on the Burin Peninsula, Newfoundland. The data were published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Mines and Energy Open Files NFLD/944 (uranium only) and 1M/166.
Samples were reanalyzed by INAA and published with other reanalyses from NTS 1L and 1M in Open Files 1L/136 and 1M/312 respectively.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers parts of NTS 1L/13, 14 (Lamaline, St. Lawrence) and 1M/3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (Marystown, Grand Bank, Point Entragee, Baine Harbour, Merasheen, Harbour Buffet, Terrenceville) on the Burin Peninsula, southern Newfoundland. It is bounded to the north and northwest by Fortune Bay and to the south by the Atlantic Ocean.
