Survey Description
Till sampling was carried out in the Buchans-Robert’s Arm Belt, northern Newfoundland in 1995. The data are published in Newfoundland Department of Natural Resources Open File NFLD/2596.

Quantities Analysed:
<0.063 mm fraction by ICP-ES after HF-HClO4-HCl digestion for 29 elements; by AAS for 4 elements; by INAA for 28 elements; by AAS after digestion in hot concentrated HNO3 for Ag.
Geochem Maps Available:
Proportional symbol maps 96-07 to 15 show dispersal of selected elements (maps include data from NFLD OFs 2513 and 2596 and GSC OF 2823).

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers part of NTS 2E/5 in the Robert’s Arm map area, northern Newfoundland. Its centre is located approximately 18 km southeast of the town of Springdale.

Covers parts of NTS 12A/15,16 and 12H/1 in the Buchans-Robert’s Arm belt, northern Newfoundland. Highway 1 runs north-south through the western part of the study area. The cities of Buchans and Millertown are located in the southern part of the study area.
