Survey Description


A total of 27 soil samples were collected from hand-dug pits along a single transect at the Pipestone Ti-V-Fe deposit in central Manitoba.  Samples were collected at 25 m intervals and consisted of damp, inorganic silty clay, sand and silt from the B horizon.  No sampling year was stated.

An enzyme leach extraction was used prior to ICP-MS analysis at Activation Laboratories Ltd.

The data are published in Manitoba Industry, Trade and Mines Open File Report OF99-10.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 63I/5 (Sugar Falls) and 63I/12 (Cross Lake), south of Pipestone Lake in the Cross Lake region, central Manitoba.  Highway 374 runs through the northern part of the study area.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 13 km south of the town of Cross Lake.
