Survey Description

Twenty nine samples from four soil profiles from 3 sites in the Rouge River basin and 1 site at the Scarborough Bluffs area of south-central Ontario were collected.  No sampling year was given.  The samples were studied to determine the general soil chemistry, the leaching histories and to assess the degree of soil contamination from industrial activity.  The study is described in Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, v.148.

Data Description:

Paper report with data list.

Quantities Analysed:

Fe extracted by citrate-dithionite and AAS.  Cations extracted with NH4OAc and determined by AAS.

Geochem Maps Available:

Soil profiles.

Other Analyses:

<0.002 mm fraction analysed for clay mineral content by XRD. Organic carbon determined by the Walkley Black method and CaCO3 acid neutralization.
