Project Description
A reconnaissance geochemical survey of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick was begun in Nova Scotia in 1956 by R.W. Boyle and continued in by R.H.C. Holman in 1957 and 1958. The work was extended into New Brunswick in 1959 by A.Y. Smith and continued in 1960 and 1961. Hundreds of stream sediment samples were collected over most of mainland Nova Scotia and the southeast part of New Brunswick. The data are published on maps, as semi-quantitative determinations for “heavy metals”, mainly copper, lead and zinc. The following maps and reports (which also include maps) were published:
