Baffin Island multi-media (1975) and NGR lake sediment and water surveys (1978)
Project Description
In July and August 1975, a multi-media orientation survey was carried out to evaluate the potential of various geochemical techniques for uranium exploration in southern Baffin Island. Two aspects were investigated: 1) the feasibility of helicopter-supported reconnaissance geochemical surveying of lakes and streams; and 2) the dispersion of metals at both regional and detailed scales. The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 444.
NGR lake sediment and water samples were collected in central Baffin Island in 1978. The data were published in GSC Open Files 566 (27B), 567 (37A) and 568 (27C, 37D) in 1979.
