Eastern Shore of Lake Superior Geochemical Project, 1975-1978

Project Description

In 1975, detailed geochemical studies were carried out in the District of Algoma on the east shore of Lake Superior, Ontario.  The goal of this orientation survey was to determine the distribution and dispersion patterns of uranium and base metals in soil, lake and stream waters and sediments and bedrock.

The work is published in Geological Survey of Canada Paper 79-18 and includes data lists.

In 1978, NGR lake sediment and water surveys were carried out in a 33 700 km2 area along the eastern shore of Lake Superior, in Ontario.  The data are published in GSC Open Files 554 (NTS 41K, N) and 555 (NTS 42C, F).
