Project Description
The objective of this project is to provide geochemical and mineralogical data on the regional variability of soils and glacial drift to assist in the exploration for kimberlites, lamproites and gold paleoplacers in the southern Prairies.
The following surveys were carried out:

* 88 samples collected by the USGS (72 from Open-File Report 90-310 and 16 from Open-File Report 75-436) were given to the GSC for reanalysis. The reanalysis data are included in OF 5582.

Funding was provided by the Canada - Saskatchewan Partnership Agreement on Mineral Development (1990-1995), the Canada-Alberta Agreement on Mineral Development (1992-1995), Manitoba Department of Energy and Mines and the Geological Survey of Canada.
