Chemical Dispersion Project, southwest Quebec, 1985

Project Description

The goal of this study is to filter soil geochemical data to more effectively use them for the study of chemical dispersion.  Archived samples collected in earlier surveys were used in this study: clay samples from drill core collected in 1977 and humus from two soil surveys collected in 1979.

The author proposes a means of withdrawing the contribution of the crystalline matrix from the total content.  Secondly, the method of extraction used by the Centre de Recherches Minérales du ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources is evaluated in order to obtain optimal contrast between background and anomalies.  A summary of the work can be found in "La géochimie d’exploration au Québec".
