Northwestern Ontario till sampling survey, 1986-1988
Project Description
A program of regional Quaternary mapping and glacial drift sampling was undertaken in 1986-1988 in the Fort Frances-Rainy River area , northwestern Ontario, a region where few mineral occurrences have been identified. The geochemical database generated by this program was designed to evaluate this largely unexplored region for its mineral potential. The information produced by this study will provide guidelines for future mineral exploration as well as outline areas with enhanced mineral potential. The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey Study 56.
