Project Metadata

The project involved combined geochemical (till) and biogeochemical (lodgepole pine bark) surveys carried out in 1991 in the Mount Milligan area of central British Columbia.  An orientation phase to the vegetation survey was also conducted in 1991 and a small follow-up vegetation survey was carried out in the Philip Lakes area in 1995.

The project was undertaken to provide critical data for the design and interpretation of regional till surveys for porphyry copper-gold exploration.  The till data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 3291/BC Geological Survey Open File 1996-22 and the vegetation data in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 3290/BC Geological Survey Open File 1996-17.  Both sets of data can also be found in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 3273/British Columbia Geological Survey Open File 1996-19, a digital suite of geoscience information.
