GEM Lake Surveys, Labrador, 2009-2010



Project Description

As part of the Geo-mapping for Energy and Minerals (GEM) program of Natural Resources Canada, lake sediment and water surveys were carried out by the Newfoundland and Labrador Geological Survey in western Labrador:

The GEM program also supports geophysical and geological mapping studies that are complementary to geochemical sampling initiatives in these regions.

Project Funding

Funding was provided by the Government of Canada’s Geo-mapping for Energy and Minerals Program (2008-2013).  GEM is being delivered federally by the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) and the Polar Continental Shelf Project (PCSP) of the Earth Sciences Sector (ESS) at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).  The Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources contributed to the funding of this project.
