The glacial deposits of southeastern Labrador, north of Red Bay, have not been studied extensively and the area’s mineral potential is largely unknown.  The Alexis River area was chosen for a detailed till geochemistry study because it exhibits a number of lake sediment geochemical anomalies.  As part of a larger Quaternary geology program in the region, till geochemistry was undertaken in the Alexis River area to refine the broader-scale lake sediment work and to attempt to locate areas of mineralization.  The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Mines and Energy Open File 013A/0046.
