Project Description
Soil, till and other sediments were collected in the Strange Lake area, western Labrador in 1984. The Strange Lake area is important because of Y-Zr-Nb-Be-REE deposit discovered in 1979. The project will help characterize glacial dispersal from mineralization of known composition and extent. Dispersal models developed at Strange Lake may be used in other drift-covered areas where geochemical anomalies are unrelated to known sources in bedrock. The data are published in Newfoundland Department of Mines and Energy Open Files LAB/0843.
