Laboratory Description


Activation Laboratories Ltd. (ACTLABS) was established in 1987 in Ancaster, Ontario (on the western edge of Hamilton), by Eric Hoffman (died July 10th, 2015).  Initially, it specialized in instrumental neutron activation analysis.  In the 1990s, the company diversified into many other areas of geochemical analysis.  In 2014, the company consolidated its Ancaster operations into a new 200,000 sq ft global headquarters. In 2016, the company operates worldwide, but the head office remains in Ancaster.
