Survey Description
Between July 24 th and August 24 th, 2004, De Beers Canada Exploration Inc. collected 454 sediment samples from the Hayes River permits in the Chantrey Inlet area of the Akunniq Region in central Nunavut Territory. The sediments were collected from streams, eskers, beaches, other glacially-carved features and glacial till for geochemical and indicator mineral analysis. The sampled area is located about 210 km south of the community of Gjoa Haven on King William Island and covers parts of NTS map sheets 56K/5, 10-15, 56L/5-16, 56M/1-4, 6-9, 16, and 56N/3-5. The data can be found in Nunavut Assessment Report 084815.
