Survey Description


Between July 16 th, 1999, and August 29 th, 1999, a total of 100 till samples and 194 stream sediment samples were collected by Opus Minerals Inc. from the Borden and Steensby Peninsulas of northern Baffin Island in east-central Nunavut. The survey area is located in the area of Bartlett Inlet and Kim Lake, within NTS map sheets 48A/4, 5 and 48B/1, and 8.

The purpose of the exploration program was to evaluate the area and delineate sources of known kimberlite indicator minerals.  Two separate kimberlites were found in outcrop.
