Survey Description

In May 1992, LFH and B horizon soils and were collected in and upslope from a seepage site at the Tulameen ultramafic complex, 100 m east-north-east of Grasshopper Creek at an elevation of 1080 m on the southern slopes of Grasshopper Mountain, southern British Columbia.  Seepage waters were also collected.  Outer bark, twigs and foliage (five years old) were collected within a 3 m radius of each soil pit.  The dominant or co-dominant species were collected, including Douglas fir, spruce, cedar and alder bark and twigs.  An interpretation of these data can be found in Journal of Geochemical Exploration v. 54.
