Survey Description


During the 2012 and 2013 field seasons, 472 rock samples were collected from the Côté Gold Au (-Cu) deposit, in the Gogama area, northern Ontario.  Samples were collected from surface exposures and drill core.

The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 8040.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of the southwest corner of NTS 41P/12 (Gogama) in northern Ontario.  It is bounded to the southwest by Clam Lake and to the northeast by Côté Lake.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 6 km west of Highway 144.

  • Covers part of the southwest corner of NTS 41P/12 (Gogama) in northern Ontario.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 1.8 km southeast of Schist Lake and 1.8 km southwest of Bagsverd Lake.  The study area is located along a road that runs north-south between the two aforementioned lakes.

  • Covers a small part of the southeast corner of NTS 41O/9 (Opeepeesway Lake) in northern Ontario.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 17.5 km southeast of the town of Jerome, ON and 2.4 km west of longitude 82°W.  The study area is located along a track that runs north-south between Ash Lake and Bear Lake.
