Survey Description


Helicopter-supported sample collection was carried out in the summer of 1974 in east-central Saskatchewan.  Lake sediment samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2 throughout the approximately 51 000 km2 survey area.  Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open Files 266, 488, 683 and 1129.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers all of NTS 63M and 64D and parts of 63K, 63L, 63N, 73I, 73O, 73P and 74A, within Saskatchewan.  Extends south to the margin of the Canadian Shield, and east to the MB border.
