Survey Description
During the summer of 1973, a lake sediment sampling survey was conducted by the Société de Développement de la Baie James, in the James Bay area. The area covers approximately 11200 km2. With helicopter support, a total of 2433 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 4.6 km2.
Samples were analyzed for:
Element | Dissolution | Technique |
Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Fe, Mn, Mo |
HNO3 |
atomic absorption (AAS) |
U |
HNO3 |
fluorimetry |
As | colorimetry |
The data are published in Open File GM 34042, Department of Natural Resources, 1978. Raw data are published in Open File GM 34043. Results are also published in Open File GM 34041, Department of Natural Resources, 1978.
A summary report of this survey is published in Open File GM 34085.
