Survey Description
In October 2017, surface sediment samples and core from Koojesse Inlet, Frobisher Bay, Nunavut were collected for an environmental investigation into the changes that may have been brought about by rapid growth and modernization of the City of Iqaluit. The samples were taken prior to the construction of a deepwater port which began in 2018. Two additional offshore core samples from Frobisher Bay were collected by the University of Manitoba in 2018 from aboard the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Amundsen.
The work is described in Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office (CNGO) Summary of Activities 2019. The data are published in CNGO Geoscience Data Series GDS2020-003.
