Survey Description
On July 26 th, 2003, 14 glacial till samples were collected from the central Steffanson Island prospecting permits in search of primary diamond deposits. The Steffanson permits are located 500 km north of Cambridge Bay, northwest Nunavut, on NTS map sheet 78D. The samples were collected by Diamond’s North Resources Inc. in joint venture with Majescor Resources Inc.
The till samples were processed and visually picked for KIMs. Suspected KIMs were submitted for electron microprobe analysis, however, the data are not presented in the accompanying assessment report. Picking results can be found in Nunavut Assessment Report 084631.
