Survey Description
During the November 17th, 1995, to November 16th, 1996, reporting period, 15 till samples were collected from the EL 17 and EL 26 claims of the EL Claims block in the Mara River area of southwest Nunavut. In 2002, 509 samples were collected and in 2003 252 samples were collected. The sampled area is located 130 km ENE of the north end of Contwoyto Lake and 45 km southwest of Bathurst Inlet; and lies within NTS map sheets 76 K/ 1, 2, 7 and 8.
This diamond exploration program was conducted by Canamera Geological Ltd. for Benachee Resources Inc. and Snowpipe Resources Ltd. in order to help delineate a poorly defined indicator mineral train discovered through previous work. (Refer to Nunavut Assessment Report 083623.)
