In August 1999, 34 till samples were collected from sites proximal to known kimberlite occurrences on the Washburn Property in central Victoria Island. The centre of the sampled area is 170 km northwest of the community of Cambridge Bay, west-central Nunavut, on NTS map sheet 77F.
This exploration program was part of a larger geochemical survey conducted by Dia Met Minerals Ltd. on behalf of Major General Resources Ltd. to evaluate the potential for diamondiferous kimberlite occurrences in central Victoria Island.
