Survey Description

A total of 207 samples were collect from July 4 to 29th in 2003. These samples were collected on the Nanuq property located approximately 170 km north of Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut. An additional 501 samples were collected from July 14 to Aug 1, 2004. These samples were collected as follow-up to a reconnaissance till sampling program that was conducted in 2001 and 2002.

The helicopter-supported sampling was conducted along lines perpendicular to ice flow. Line spacing was approximately 5 km and samples were collected at 1 to 2 km for regional samples. Detailed work was conducted in the areas of known anomalies with line spacing of 1.25 to 1.5 km and samples collected every 500 m. Samples were sent to Overburden Drilling Management Ltd., in Nepean, Ontario.

Selected grains were sent for microprobe analysis.

The data can be found in Nunavut Assessment Report 084756.
