Survey Description


In 1978 and 1979, till samples were collected 30 m apart on lines 50 m apart at Onaman River, Ontario.  Where possible samples were collected at 10 to 40 cm vertical intervals in sections up to 2.5 m deep in oxidized till.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers a very small part of NTS 42L/4 (Elbow Lake) in Ontario, east of Lake Nipigon.  It lies within the Onaman–Tashota Greenstone Belt.  The Coulee-Onaman No. 2 Zone mineral occurrence (87°37'33.2"W, 50°2'17.47"N) lies within the SE corner of the polygon and is itself 2.8 km SSW of the site of the Tashota-Nipigon Mine (87°35'21.69"W, 50°2'50.47"N).
