Survey Description

Bedrock samples that were previous collected around the Gibraltar Mine and the Woodjam copper prospect in south central British Columbia were processed for heavy minerals in order to identify minerals that have the potential to be used as porphyry copper indicator minerals (PCIM).

Location Number of Samples Comments
Gibraltar

5 from mine site

2 from Gunn porphyry

- collected in 2014 by personnel from BCGS, UBC and Taseko Mines
Gibraltar 6

-from GSC archives

-originally collected by R. Kirkham in 1973 and 1975

Woodjam 10

- previously crushed coarse bedrock core samples

- collected by Gold Fields Horsefly Exploration Corporation

The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 8580.
