Survey Description

In 2016, 109 till samples were collected at 103 sites in the South Rae region, southeastern Northwest Territories.  At each site, a small (~2 kg) and large (~10 kg) sample were taken at an average depth of 75 cm in hand dug holes. The samples will be submitted for compositional (textural, geochemical and clast lithology), indicator mineral and gold grain analyses.

A summary of the work can be found in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 8143.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canda Open File 8714.
