Survey Description

Following reconnaissance of the Wholdaia Lake and Abitau Lake map areas in 2014, including the collection of 5 till samples, more detailed work was carried out in 2015 in southeast Northwest Territories.

In 2015, 94 till samples were collected at 88 sites for geochemistry and processing of heavy minerals.  Rock and till samples were also collected from the vicinity of the Hoidas Lake REE deposit in Saskatchewan to characterize its geochemical and mineralogical signature in till.

A summary of the work can be found in Geological Survey of Canada Open Files 7701 and 7958.  The data are published in GSC Open File 8714.
