Description du levé


En 2009 and 2010, des échantillons de till et de substrat rocheux ont été receuillis sur 270 sites près des gisements de Sue Dianne et NICO ainsi que aux plusieurs indices dans la zone magmatique du Grand lac de l’Our aux Territoires du Nord-Ouest.  Un total de 101 échantillons de till a été recueillis dans des fosses creusées à la main à une profondeur moyenne de 50 cm.  Sur chaque site, un échantillon de ~3 kg (pour la géochimie) et un échantillon de ~16 kg (pour traitement des minéraux indicateurs) ont été recueillis.  Un total de 71 échantillons de substrat rocheux de 1-3 kg a été pris pour la récupération de minéraux lourds.

L'étendue géographique du levé est définie par les polygones suivants:

  • Couvre des parties de 85N (Marian River), 86C (Hardisty Lake), 86D (Rivière Grandin), 86E (Leith Peninsula), 86F (Calder River) et 86K (Sloan River) du SNRC au sud-est de Grand lac de l’Ours, aux Territoires du Nord-Ouest.  Il est délimité au nord-ouest par Grand lac de l’Ours et il est situé à environ 150 km au nord-ouest de la ville de Yellowknife.
