Survey Description

During the summers of 1969 to 1971, samples of granitoid plutonic bodies were sampled in Yukon Territory and adjoining parts of Northwest Territories.  A total of 1523 sites in 109 plutons were sampled in duplicate, leading to 3046 samples.  Where possible, a minimum of 15 sites were sampled per pluton.  For each sample, fresh rock chips weighing between 1 and 1.5 kg were collected over a small area.  The duplicate sample was taken approximately 6 m from the first.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2479.
