Survey Description


Stream sediments and waters were collected at 767 sites in northwestern New Brunswick during the summer of 1999.  Sample sites were distributed over a 2,020 km2 survey area at an average of one sample per 2.7 km2.  Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data are published in GSC Open File 3889/New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy Open File Report 2000-6.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers all of NTS 21O/12 and /13 in northwestern New Brunswick except the NW corner of 21O/13 where it is bounded by the New Brunswick/Quebec border.
