Survey Description


Helicopter-supported lake sediment and water collection was carried out during the summer of 1992 in central Labrador.  Samples were collected at 404 sites at an average density of one sample per 8.9 km2 throughout the 3,600 square kilometre survey area.  Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples. The data are published in GSC Open File 2650.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers all of NTS 13K/6, 13K/7, 13K/10 and 13K/15 in central Labrador.  It is bounded to the south by latitude 54°15', to the north by latitude 55°, to the west by longitude 61°30' and to the east by longitude 60°30'.
