Survey Description
Helicopter and ship supported stream sediment and water sampling was carried out in northern Labrador during the summer of 1986. Samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2 throughout the 16 000 km2 survey area. Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples. The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 1354 and Newfoundland Department of Mines and Energy Open File LAB 710.
The samples were reanalysed by INAA and are published along with the original data in GSC Open File 2794.
This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 14M and parts of 14L, 24I, P, 25A, in northern Labrador. It covers all of Labrador north of 58°N. It is bounded to the west by the Labrador-Quebec border and to the east by the Labrador Sea.
