Survey Description
Helicopter-supported sample collection was carried out during the summer of 1983. Lake sediment and water samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2. Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples. The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 997.
Most of the samples (except those to the west of 61°30’W and those in the southeast corner (south of 54°30’N and east of 60°30’W)) were reanalysed by INAA and republished as GSC Open File 1636. The remaining samples were reanalysed by INAA at a later date, and the data for all of the samples were republished as GSC Open File 2645.
This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.
