Survey Description


During the summer of 1978, helicopter-supported lake sediment and water sampling was carried out in central Labrador.  The samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2.  Sample site and grid cell duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data were published in GSC Open File 558 in 1979.  The samples collected from the southeast portion were reanalysed by INAA and republished in GSC Open File 1636.  The remaining samples from the survey were reanalysed by INAA at a later date.  Data from all of the samples from the survey were then republished in GSC Open File 2648.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

  • Covers NTS 13N in Labrador.  It is bounded to the northeast by the Labrador Sea.
