Survey Description

During the summer of 1977, helicopter-supported sample collecting was carried out in the Thunder Bay area, Ontario.  Lake sediment and water samples were collected at an average density of one sample per 13 km2.  Sample site and grid cell duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 507.

The samples were reanalysed by INAA and published in GSC Open File 2179 along with the original data from OF 507.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.
