Survey Description
Over 5000 till samples were collected in the Chibougamau-Chapais area of central Quebec during an exploration program. The sampling year is unknown. Approximately 1200 heavy mineral samples were obtained from these tills. The data are unpublished. A report on the first recorded Canadian occurrence of the mineral iodargyrite found in these tills is published in Canadian Mineralogist, v.35, part 1.
Sampling Procedure
Heavy minerals from tills were obtained by tabling, super panning and heavy liquid separation.
