Survey Description


Fifty-one till samples weighing ~5 kg were collected using an excavator and processed for heavy minerals.  The heavy minerals were analysed for 24 elements at Bondar-Clegg.

Fifteen rock samples collected from outcrops were analysed by the Quebec Ministry of Energy and Resources for major oxides and trace elements.

The data are published in GM 51398, a report submitted to the Government of Quebec.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 21E/06 (La Patrie) in the Eastern Townships, southern Quebec.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 9 km north of the Maine-Quebec border.  Highway 257 runs north-south through the study area.  The municipality of Chartierville is located just south of the study area.
