Survey Description

Between November 1985 and January 1986, 227 reverse circulation drill holes were completed in the Chapais-Desmaraisville area, northern Quebec.  Approximately 2760 m of overburden and 335 m of bedrock were drilled.  From the drilling program, 1106 overburden samples (till, sand, gravel) and 335 bedrock samples were collected,

The overburden samples were processed for heavy minerals.  The concentrates were examined for gold, and both the concentrates and the bedrock samples were analyzed by Bondar-Clegg for Cu, Zn, Ag, As and Au.

The data are published in GM 44879, a report submitted to the Government of Quebec.
