Survey Description


During the summer of 1984, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Dunham area, Quebec.  The area covers 0.9 km2.  A total of 186 samples from horizons O and B, were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.005 km2.  Samples were analyzed for Ag, Ba, Cd, Co, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn (atomic absorption), U by fluorimetry and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 86-44, Department of Energy and Resources, 1986.  Results are also published in Open File ET 85-12, Department of Energy and Resources, 1986.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 31H/2 (Cowansville).  The Dunham area is located in the Estrie region.  It is situated near the villages of Dunham and Frelighsburg.  It is bounded by latitudes 45°04' and 45°07' and longitudes 72°50' and 72°52'.
