Ground water samples from domestic wells were collected in 3 phases in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, Estrie, Beauce and Bas St-Laurent areas:

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 22C/3 (Trois-Pistoles), the west half of 21N (Edmundston), 21K/12 (Saint-Magloire), /13 (Saint-Pamphile), most of 21L (Quebec) and 21E (Sherbrooke), the northeast corner of 31H (Montreal), 31I/1 (Saint-Léonard-d'Aston), /2 (Yamaska), /8 (Becancour). The region is bounded to the north by the St. Lawrence River, to the south by the USA border, and by longitudes 69°W and 73°W. It includes the cities of Sorel and Trois-Pistoles.
