In 1979, a soil sampling survey was conducted on reserved land #3, Villemontel township, Quebec. The area covers 11 km2. A total of 987 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.07 km2.
Samples were analyzed for Ag, As, Co, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sn, U and Zn.
The data are published in Open File GM 39659, Department of Energy and Resources, 1981.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:
Covers NTS 32D/9 (Amos). The Villemontel area is located in the Abitibi region. It is situated 20 km west of the city of Amos, in Trécesson county. The land #3 included lots 12-26, rg. II and lots 12-22, rg. III, Villemontel township. It is bounded by latitudes 48°35'17" and 48°37' and longitudes 78°20' and 78°21'.
