Survey Description


In 1988, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Montauban Group area, Quebec.  The area covers 90 km2.  A total of 169 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.5 km2.  Samples were analyzed for:

Ag, Al, As, Au, B, Ba, Be, Br, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cs, Cu, Eu, Fe, Hg, K, La, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Sb, Sc, Se, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, Tm, U, V, W, Y, Zn    
Loss on ignition (LOI)

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 31I/15 (Rivière-Mekinac), /16 (Notre-Dame-de-Montauban) and 31P/1 (Talbot), /2 (Lac-Chat).  The northern part of the Montauban area is located in the Mauricie region.  It includes Rivière Tawachiche and Lac Hackett.  It is bounded by latitudes 46°55'30" and 47°06'30" and longitudes 72°27' and 72°30'.
